When we last caught up with actress Maika Monroe, she was hyping up the script for David Robert Mitchell’s They Follow, the sequel to the 2011 horror film It Follows.
While speaking with the good folks over at the Digital Spy website this week, Monroe admitted that the news of a sequel to It Follow surprised her:
“It surprised me, it was incredibly unexpected. I started hearing rumours about it maybe a year ago, probably, and then was definitely, initially, a bit nervous. The first one is so good and it ended in such a perfect way, I thought, so I was like, ‘Oh no, oh no’.”
She added the following, praising the director:
“But David’s getting the gang back together. The script is f**king incredible. I mean he’s so talented and I think it’s going to be something very special.”
Monroe sounds excited, so let’s just hope it turns out to be as good as the hype suggests.
