Brad Dourif, beloved actor and voice of horror icon Chucky, has officially retired from acting at the age of 74. Good news is Dourif will still continue actively working on any Chucky movie or TV related projects going forward.
In a new chat this week with Joblo‘s Tyler Nichols, Dourif shared the following information announcing his retirement from acting non-Chucky projects:
“Dourif said that he’s retired from acting. The only reason he came back for the show was because of his daughter Fiona and he considers Chucky creator Don Mancini to be family. But for non-Chucky stuff, he considers himself retired.”
We, as fans, should respect his decision and be thankful for what he has down for the genre over the decades.
At least we can still look forward to his voice work as Chucky in any new related projects from movie and TV series creator Don Mancini.
