The film has the following synopsis:

A long time ago in a distant fairy-tale countryside, a young girl leads her little brother into a dark wood in a desperate search for food and work, only to find a nexus of relentless evil.

This terrifying and beautiful work directed by Osgood Perkins (The Blackcoat’s Daughter, I Am The Pretty Thing That Lives In The House) features stunning cinematography by Galo Olivares (Roma, Alien: Romulus) and chilling performances by Sophia Lillis (It, Asteroid City) and Alice Krige (Star Trek: First Contact). Gretel & Hansel is filled with a discerning mood and deep foreboding—this is not your parents’ bedtime story.
