Director Chris Carter is working on a new director’s cut of The X-Files: I Want to Believe, which he is hinting will be a much scarier version of his 2008 movie.

Director Chris Carter shared the following comments on his new director’s cut of the movie:

“Now I have a chance to go back and make the scary movie that I always intended. It’s not just doing a director’s cut to do a director’s cut. It’s really kind of bringing to life something that for me was on the page and never got to the screen.”

The movie has the following synopsis:

“Two former FBI detectives are called upon to work together on a case concerning a priest who claims that he experiences psychic visions.”
