With Mortal Kombat II already in theaters, writer Jeremy Slater has started writing the script for Mortal Kombat III and confirms a second draft is already complete.
In a new interview this week with The Hollywood Reporter, Slater said:
“They commissioned me to start working on a script for III, and I’m finishing a second draft right now.”
Slater appears to be very satisfied with his progress:
“I’m very, very happy with it. In the same way that we took lessons from the first one and tried to make II a much better movie, we’re now taking the lessons from II. We’re taking some of the fan reactions from early screenings to make III even bigger and even more satisfying. We want to continue to raise the bar for ourselves along the way.”
