As part of a new deal with Paramount, sources are reporting this week that director Parker Finn‘s 2022 horror film Smile is likely to get a sequel at some point down the line. The news on Smile 2 comes from the folks over at THR website who were the first to break the welcomed update.
“Smile’s breakthrough success is a testament to Parker’s unique and fresh filmmaking, and we are thrilled that he will make Paramount his home,” Said Paramount CEO Brian Robbins regarding the new deal with Finn.
Smile, starring Sosie Bacon, follows: “a therapist who begins experiencing bizarre hallucinations after witnessing the shocking suicide of a patient; things only get more terrifying from there.”
Paramount’s motion picture group co-presidents Michael Ireland and Daria Cercek are very excited by the new deal, adding, “Parker knows how to keep people on the edge of their seat and we’re happy that we get to keep scaring audiences together.”
There is currently no date set in place for Smile 2 yet as things are in very early stages of development at Paramount.
