Actor John Leguizamo, who played the villainess “Clown” in the 1997 Spawn movie, stated in an interview that he would love to reprise the role for a cameo in Blumhouse Productions and director Todd Mcfarlane‘s new reboot movie.
While speaking with ComicBook.com, Leguizamo said:
“I don’t know if I can play Clown again if lightning strikes twice like that, but I’d love to do a cameo again somehow.”
I don’t know about you, but I think it would be very interesting to see Leguizamo’s “Clown” make a return in the new Spawn movie.
Currently, as it stands, the next round of drafts on the script for Spawn is being worked on as we speak. In a report from CBR, Mcfarlane mentions that he hopes to sell the reboot in the coming months.
“We’re all hoping to have a script that we could go out to sell by mid-year. But short of that, the goal for all of us is to be out there in the middle of the year. Hopefully, to be able to say, ‘We’ve sold it, we have the studio, we have the backing, and very quickly, we have a production date that we’re aiming toward to begin shooting.’“
