Dark Nation has mostly covered cheats for the entire Splatterhouse series, but next up we have a couple of Splatterhouse cheats for the Turbografx 16 version of the iconic horror video game.
The following cheats should work on the PAL, NTSC, and Japanese versions of the game.
HARD MODE:
Increase the difficulty level of the game to hard:
On the title screen, hold down the Select button until the word “HARD” is displayed on the screen to access hard mode.
LEVEL SELECT:
Choose which level to begin on:
When the rain effect starts falling on the title screen, press Run and press Select, Select, Select. Next hit button I while holding Down–Left on the d-pad.
Bonus: If you choose level 0 it will take you to the final boss battle.
SOUNT TEST:
Once you enter the level select code, press Select to access a secret sound test menu.
To access the white version of Rick’s mask, you will need a copy of the Japanese version of the game for the PC Engine. Sadly, no cheat code is available to restore the white hockey mask in the PAL and NTSC conversions.
Console emulation is also an option if you can work out the right button configuration to input these cheats using a generic controller for your desk top computer.
