The long-awaited remake of Target Renegade for the Spectrum Next is still very much in development. The passing of lead programmer at WASP Lyndon Sharp was obviously a big blow and has understandably hindered the games progress somewhat.
What I can tell you is after doing some research, remaining WASP studio programmers Kayashii Furio and Marco Varesio are still very much actively working on the Spectrum Next version of the beloved beat ’em up game.
Furio shared the following update on a Facebook community gaming page regarding the upcoming Spectrum Next version of the iconic fighting game:
“Hi people, thanks for your nice comments about Target Renegade on the Spectrum Next! I can confirm it is still being worked on by Marco and myself, even if we have gone underground for a good long while after Lyndon passed. It will be ready when it’s good enough to release! We won’t rush it – its too good a license for that!”
The game is still coming, folks. We just need to have a little patience.
Dark Nation will continue to keep you updated on the progress of Target Renegade on the Spectrum Next.
