Deadline is reporting this evening that Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ralph Fiennes are set to star in Danny Boyle’s and Sony Pictures’ new 28 Years Later trilogy.
It was also recently confirmed that Boyle will be directing the first movie of the new trilogy, and Candyman director Nia DaCosta will helm the second entry.
Original star Cillian Murphy is no board as an executive producer. No word on whether or not he will have an appearance of some sort in any of the movies. The actor did state in an interview with the The Independent that he would love to be in it if given the opportunity.
According to Richmondshire Today, this is a snippet of the plot: “The fictional film is set in a post-apocalyptic world and follows a young boy’s journey of survival and discovery.”
The same website also notes that filming is set to take place for a few weeks in Redmire Falls between July and August of 2024.
