David Fincher’s Panic Room is getting a Brazilian remake from Gabriela Amaral Almeida.

Brazilian actress Isis Valverde is set to star in a remake of David Fincher’s 2002 American thriller Panic Room. The telefilm will be coming from Floresta, Sony Pictures Television’s Brazilian production company.

Gabriela Amaral Almeida (Friendly BeastThe Father’s Shadow) is set to helm.

The plot of the new Panic Room is as follows:

“A recently widowed woman and her young daughter as they seek refuge in a secret panic room after burglars invade their home. What they don’t know is that the intruders are after something hidden in the very room in which they’ve locked themselves.”

The film is in pre-production as we type this, Variety confirms this week.

As a fan of the original starring Jody Foster and Kristen Stewart, it will be interesting to see a new take on the 2002 film.
