Back in late December of 2024, it was reported that Jim Henson’s beloved 1986 fantasy film Labyrinth would be getting a sequel by Robert Eggers (Nosferatu).
We can now confirm that the previous report from Jeff Sneider (theinsneider) is indeed true. Eggers is set to write and direct the new film for TriStar Pictures.
The original 1986 film follows:
“the former’s 16-year-old Sarah as she navigates a vast, otherworldly maze to rescue her infant brother, Toby (Toby Froud), whom she inadvertently wished away to the realm of Goblin King Jareth (Bowie). Throughout her journey, Sarah encounters a variety of magical creatures and challenges that test her resolve and maturity.”
Chris and Eleanor Columbus will produce alongside Lisa Henson, with Brian Henson executive producing.
Eggers is repped by WME and Frankfurt Kurnit Klein and Selz.
We will bring you more news updates on the Labyrinth sequel as soon as more information becomes available to the public.
