A new promo has been revealed showing how the classic sounds of Leatherface’s chainsaw were created for Gun Interactive‘s anticipated Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game.
Based on the iconic horror movie directed by the late Tob Hooper in 1974, the new game promises to capture all the ingredients that made the movie so special. The latest behind-the-scenes look at the game showcases what it takes to capture the harrowing sounds of the original chainsaw that will be used by Leatherface throughout the game.
After being out in the blistering heat to capture those all important chainsaw sound effects, the team shared the following information about their efforts:
“Early on in the development of The Texas Chain Saw massacre, we realized we needed to faithfully recreate everything about that original saw. This included the distinct sound profile, and no off the shelf modern saw would suffice. So the team set out, with the help of SFX Recording Artist Watson Wu, to bring the sound of the saw to life.”
The people at Gun are obviously making sure the game delivers what gamers would want from a game based on one of the most famous horror movies of all time. A faithfully recreation sounds like the developers are going all out on this project to bring us the best possible video game experience.
In addition to Leatherface, gamers will also be able to play as the rest of the Sawyer family. Selectable Sawyer characters include Drayton Sawyer, also known the cook, Nubbins Sawyer, also known as the hitchhiker, and newcomers Sissy and Johnny. Hero characters include Connie, Sonny, Julie, Leland, and Ana.
