A fan-made port of the original Splatterhouse is making its way to the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive. Besides Splatterhouse 2 and Splatterhouse 3, Namco somehow skipped doing a conversion of the classic 1988 arcade game for the beloved console.
The game is being developed with the Scorpion Engine, and so far it looks and sound mighty impressive. We have embedded a first look at the game in action below, along with some comments from the developer.
The plan is to develop the game in stages, until the project reaches completion. Monster Bath Games shared the following information about the game via their X account:
“I’m going to try to do one section a week until it is completed. Some levels have 1 section, some have a bunch like the mansion which branches off a few times. Once I get level 2 completed I’ll start posting playable builds. As of now it’s 3 minutes long with the intro.”
So for the past 2 weeks I took a break from working everyday to… work. Decided to try out Scorpion Engine to make a Sega MegaDrive/Genesis game.
How’s it looking so far? 😉
